OBJECTIVE:

My background includes a wide variety of experiences in education, business and the arts.  I seek a position where I may contribute to a dedicated team that promotes child centered learning and effective balanced literacy instruction.

As an efficient administrator, organizer and planner, I bring energy and enthusiasm to many tasks.  I have been commended by employers for my communication and problem solving skills.  I recognize that firmness and consistency are essential components of effective classroom management.  I have continued to pursue my professional learning, obtaining Additional Basic Qualifications in Special Education, Parts I and II.

As a teacher of young children, I am committed to the fundamental principle that all children can learn.  I focus on teaching higher level thinking skills through the arts.    As a visual artist and published poet, I thrive on the joy of creating new ways to see the world.  My work has been shown in many venues, and is in private collections.
