OBJECTIVE:
My background includes a wide variety of experiences in education, business and the arts. I seek a position where I may contribute to a dedicated team that promotes child centered learning and effective balanced literacy instruction.
As an efficient administrator, organizer and planner, I bring energy and enthusiasm to many tasks. I have been commended by employers for my communication and problem solving skills. I recognize that firmness and consistency are essential components of effective classroom management. I have continued to pursue my professional learning, obtaining Additional Basic Qualifications in Special Education, Parts I and II.
As a teacher of young children, I am committed to the fundamental principle that all children can learn. I focus on teaching higher level thinking skills through the arts. As a visual artist and published poet, I thrive on the joy of creating new ways to see the world. My work has been shown in many venues, and is in private collections.
